BARCELONA AQUARIUM

The Barcelona Aquarium is located next to the harbour, at the Moll d’Espanya del Port Vell. It is a marine leisure and educational centre of great importance for the mediterranean region. A series of 35 tanks, 11 000 animals and 450 different species, an underwater tunnel 80 metres long, six million litres of water and an immense Oceanarium turn this centre into a unique leisure experience that has already been visited by more than 14 million people since its opening in 1995.

Children can participate in some of the many interactive activities, learn more on oceanography and marine evolution though eye-level games and installations and catch a glimpse of the inside of an exploratory submarine. The section Explore! rappresents the main ambients of the meditarranean coast.
