Created back in 1848 by the architect and urbanist Francesc Daniel Molina. It’s located just off the famous Ramblas, on the left hand side when walking towards the harbour, in the heart of the Gothic Quarter. It’s famous for its tall palm trees, the central fountain called Tres Gràcies and two streetlights designed by the famous Antoni Gaudí. It has been remodelled a few times but still remains one of the most traditional public spaces of Barcelona, where tourists and locals sit and enjoy a drink or a nice meal in one of its many restautants on the open. It’s one of the warmest and most cosmopolitan meeting points of the city, for students, artists, tourists, intellectuals and families, where they all enjoy a pleasant atmosphere and stay til late night hours, thanks to the many bars and restaurants in the area. How to get there: metro stop Liceu (L3, green line)
